Alexander Acosta: The Sanest Pick We’ve Seen So Far

With Donald Trump’s announcement this morning of Alexander Acosta as the new U.S. Secretary of Labor nominee, a collective – if possibly temporary – sigh of relief was heard. As Carl’s Jr./Hardee’s CEO Andrew Puzder withdrew his nomination, many in the work world were bracing for a similarly unqualified and nonsensical candidate to take Puzder’s place. While we’re still giving Acosta the rubber stamp of approval at this point, he seems to be the first of his kind in the new administration: a solid and fairly uncontroversial candidate.
