This Thanksgiving Day, some retail stores are putting profits over people by opening their doors on one of America's major holidays. Rather than spend the day with their loved ones and families, employees at these stores will be stocking shelves and dealing with often irate customers looking for a bargain.

We at Labor 411 will be boycotting these stores below, choosing instead to spend the day free from the madness of holiday shopping. We hope you will too!

J.C. Penney

Kohl's

Best Buy

Target

Toys R Us

Sears

Macy's

Belk

Sports Authority

HH Gregg

Walmart

Dollar General

Don't forget to sign our petition here telling CEOs to give employees Thanksgiving Day off!

It's your job. It's part of working in retail. You know it comes every year. Suck it up, put a smile on your face and go to work. You have all these petitions going around saying sign for this and sign for that. My wife is a nurse. Oh boy would I love to see her for any holiday!!!!! I have family over seas. We would love to see them on holidays! There are also people in my life that can't get any closer to me without being family that have to go out and put their lives on the line on a daily basis for people that they do not even know, also not even knowing if they will make it home to see their loved ones again. So excuse me if I dont feel bad about those hard working folks that actually can spend at least a half of a day with their loved ones have to go to work for a few hours.

Has it occurred to you that many of the employees of these businesses don't mind working on Thanksgiving day since they are paid hourly. And in some cases will get extra holiday pay for working that day.

We are open on Thanksgiving as we also sell groceries as well as retail items. But we are unionized and will be paid double time and a half. We also close early, by 4:00 so we do have a chance to spend some time with our families.

How is our culture supposed to be passed on if our young people miss important events due to your greed? Grandparents who don't have much time left, miss spending precious time with grandchildren because of your greed. We miss being a family because of your greed.
